I must direct your attention to Catholic Analysis and the series Oswald is running on the Pope's latest book. This newest installment on the Our Father is certainly worth reading. Go to this LINK: Pope Series: The Lord's Prayer.

Saint Rita
Prayer to Saint Rita
Dear Rita, model Wife and Widow, you yourself suffered in a long illness showing patience out of love for God. Teach us to pray as you did. Many invoke you for help, full of confidence in your intercession. Deign to come now to our aid for the relief and cure of {name of sufferer}. To God, all things are possible; may this healing give glory to the Lord. Amen.

Mary, Star of the Sea
Hail, brightest Star of ocean,
God's own Mother blest,
Ever-sinless Virgin,
Gate of heavenly rest!
Virgin all excelling,
Mildest of the mild,
Freed from guilt, preserve us,
Meek and undefiled.
Keep our life all spotless,
Make our way secure,
Till we find in Jesus
Joy forevermore.
Through the highest heaven
To Almighty Three,
Father, Son and Spirit,
One same glory be. Amen.

Merry Mary May
I have been trying to post a comment to my friend Alice's blog and I'm not sure my new computer system is allowing me to. Still figuring this new system out! But, at any rate, I'd like to direct your attention to Alice's Cottage Blessings, for several reasons (there are some beautiful photos and thoughts there!), but primarily for the post on: Marian May Baskets, Then and Now. It is such a delightful and meaningful craft to partake in! I just did this again with my second graders at our parish, (First Communion Class). What a wonderful sacred item to produce for young ones. We enjoyed every minute of it, and love to look at these special baskets over and over.
Holy Mary Mother of God, pray for us.
Holy Mary Mother of God, pray for us.
Later, I will post our special prayer/poem of Mary Star of the Sea that the children placed in their baskets.

Beautiful First Holy Communion
Just a few pictures of our son Michael's First Communion from yesterday.
Michael has just given the offering of bread to our pastor.

The class sings a special song. Our daughter is playing the piece on the piano for them.
"I'm going to celebrate the love of Jesus in my life....
celebrate in song, celebrate in Eucharist...."
